The Investiture Ceremony of the newly elected College Council 2025-26 was held at Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-6/2 auditorium on Tuesday, 28th October 2025. The event was graced by the honourable Chief Guest, Ms. Farah Naz Akbar (MNA/Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training), along with Ms. Riffat Jabeen (Director Academics FDE) and other esteemed officers from FDE. Respected teachers and proud parents of the council members also attended this significant occasion.The ceremony commenced at 10:30 AM with the arrival of the Chief Guest, respected Principal Prof. Aaliya Durrani, Vice-Principals Ms. Asma Maqbool Niazi, Ms. Tasneem Kausar, and Head Mistress Ms. Irum Aziz. The program began with a beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Memoona Rashid (BSM-7), followed by a Naat-e-Rasool by Ms. Amna Sadiq (IX-A). Ms. Riffat Sultana, HoD Pakistan Studies and Stage Secretary, warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the vital importance of the Students’ Council in benefiting both the college and its students. The College Anthem was then melodiously sung by Khadija and her group.In her welcome address, Principal Prof. Aaliya Durrani expressed heartfelt thanks to the guests and warmly congratulated the newly elected Students’ Council and their parents. She applauded the administrative and teaching staff for their dedication to quality education despite limited resources. Among the notable mentions were Ms. ShahBano Misbah (Islamiyat department) and Ms. Shazia Rehman (primary section), recipients of the Ustad-e-Mohtaram Award. Prof. Durrani also highlighted the introduction of modern educational facilities including Google Lab, Coding Lab, Mind Game Room, Hi-Impact Lab, Maths Lab, Chromebooks, and other smart technologies. The college’s community initiatives were acknowledged, such as flood relief by the College Civic Society, participation of over 900 students in the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, and an HPV vaccination campaign promoting student well-being. The Principal stressed the Students’ Council’s role in strengthening teacher-student relations and encouraged members to lead with integrity, empathy, and punctuality. She concluded by expressing gratitude to Ms. Farah Naz Akbar for honoring the event and wished all students success in their future endeavors.Following the Principal’s address, outgoing Student Council President Ms. Hamaim Afridi shared the achievements of the previous year, appreciated the teamwork, and wished the new Council every success. She congratulated the newly elected President and thanked the respected teachers for their support and guidance.The oath-taking ceremony was a highlight with Ms. Eman Ameer, the newly elected President, taking her oath from Chief Guest Ms. Farah Naz Akbar. This was followed by a symbolic Candle Exchange Ceremony where the outgoing President handed over a lighted candle to the new President, who also presented a bouquet in appreciation.The main Council members including Ms. Zanjabeel Kiani (Vice President), Ms. Zobia Abbasi (General Secretary), Ms. Sabika Waseem (Joint Secretary), Ms. Samara Hareem (Treasurer), Ms. Seemab Tahir (Secretary Civic and Character Building Society-Morning), and Ms. Meerab Shahid (Secretary Civic and Character Building Society-Evening) then took their oaths. Head Girls from different sections, secretaries of various college societies, Deputy Head Girls, and class representatives from both morning and evening shifts also took their oaths administered by the Chief Guest.In her inaugural address, President Ms. Eman Ameer thanked the teachers and students for their trust and assured everyone that her team will strive to foster a supportive, vibrant environment driven by collaboration and innovation, with the blessings of Allah Almighty. The College choir then captivated the audience with a soul-stirring Milli Song expressing love for Pakistan.Principal Prof. Aaliya Durrani presented the College Insignia and flowers to the Chief Guest as a mark of respect.The Chief Guest, Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, expressed her gratitude to the Principal for the invitation. She praised the faculty’s dedication and the essential role of parents in nurturing their daughters. She lauded the new Council members and encouraged them to perform their duties with passion, honesty, and teamwork. She emphasized the practical value of education, the democratic right and responsibility of voting, building confidence among girls, and the courage to serve the nation sincerely, urging them to be proud ambassadors of Pakistan.The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem at 12:10 PM followed by a photo session. Refreshments were served to the esteemed guests and parents in the college lawn.
